Mineral Wells Man Arrested After Being Caught Burglarizing A Home

A Mineral Wells police officer stunned and arrested a man allegedly caught in the act of burglarizing a home. 36-year-old Terry Jay Williams was arrested after he reportedly fled from police after stealing items from a local home. Williams remained in Palo Pinto County Jail Tuesday afternoon on bonds totaling $109,000. The Mineral Wells Index says police responded to a residential alarm near the 200 block of N.E. 4th Avenue. An officer responded and found Williams in the home…The officer chased Williams into a wooded area near the home. After a short pursuit, the officer was able to overtake Williams and get him to the ground. It was then Williams allegedly began to get combative and tried to get away from the officer. The officer used his Taser to attempt to subdue Williams, who reportedly kept trying to fight back. The officer had to use the stun gun multiple times before Williams stopped fighting back. The officer was treated for minor injuries sustained in the scuffle.
