A man believed to be involved in a horseback riding incident outside of Springtown died Wednesday.
Scott Tompkins, 62, of Weatherford, was pronounced dead by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner.
The Parker County Sheriff’s Office received a call Wednesday around 6:45 p.m. in the 6900 block of U.S. Highway 51 north near Carter Road in reference to an injured man who had been riding a horse.
Officials told the Weatherford Democrat that said a family member had come home and found the man and reported the call to the sheriff’s department.
“At this time, no foul play is suspected, but it has not yet been determined whether the death was medical or an accident,” Huffman said.
A toxicology report was ordered and results are pending, according to the medical examiner’s website.
The horse was reportedly found unharmed along the fence line of the property.
