Weatherford ISD honoree’s recognized

The Weatherford ISD honored Roger Grizzard as the recipient of the school’s first "True Blue Kangaroo" award during the second half of Friday’s varsity football game against Irving Nimitz at Kangaroo Stadium.

Grizzard, a former high school teacher and current owner of The Pizza Place, not only comes out to support Kangaroo athletics, but he also attends high school events such as band, Belles, theatre arts, UIL, and more. He has always made teachers and students feel pride in what they do, and his goal is for the students to know that the people in the community cares about them.

The Parker County Hospital District Board and staff members were also recognized at Friday’s varsity football game for continuing to protect the health of Weatherford ISD students and by offering flu shot clinics at all 11 campuses.

The Parker County Hospital District has been long-standing partners with the District, and this year’s campus flu shot clinics will begin Sept. 17.
