Karey Moore, Aledo High School Pre-AP Chemistry/Chemistry teacher, was granted good news recently – she is the 2014 Prestigious Hero of the Bayard H. Friedman Score-A-Goal in the Classroom award for Most Outstanding Science/Chemistry teacher in Texas!
Parker County Today says Ms. Moore was one of 988 nominations, according to Ernie Horn, executive director of the organization. She will receive a crystal medallion and a $1,000 honorarium from the Walsh Foundation Nov. 12 during a magical evening hosted by the Shrine Circus. Ms. Moore will parade under the Big Top at Cowtown atop a circus elephant, and be named the Shriners Hero of the Year. Nov. 12 also happens to be Ms. Moore’s birthday.
Horn said Ms. Moore was selected for having an incredible work ethic. Ms. Moore received her Bachelor’s degree from California Polytechnic State University, and her Master’s in Animal Science from Tarleton State University.
