A verdict has been handed down in the much-publicized trial of 27-year-old Rodney Chase Pettigrew, and it took no time to hand down a very stiff punishment.
Jurors returned with a verdict of guilty in Pettigrew’s capital murder trial Wednesday afternoon in the 415th District Court of Judge Graham Quisenberry in Parker County. They also immediately followed with a sentence of life in prison with no possibility of parole.
Pettigrew was convicted of murdering 14-month-old Kamden Lee Bailey on Sept. 16, 2011. He was dating the child’s mother, Vanessa Coomer, at the time.
