Lots of rain was little help for the lakes of Palo Pinto County this past week, and the county has reinstated the burn ban. The ban was put back on after a recommendation from Palo Pinto County Fire Marshal Chad Jordan yesterday. That was despite two inches of rainfall to the area on Saturday. Jordan said high winds and drier conditions place the area at risk for fires. According to the Mineral Wells Index, Lake Palo Pinto is down 19 feet from capacity, Possum Kingdom is down 15 feet, and Lake Bridgeport is down 23 feet.
