An Annetta-area man was arrested Friday morning, accused of shooting a utility subcontractor in the foot during a confrontation on his property. 42-year-old Mark Ryan Wright was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The Parker County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting around 7 a.m. in the 100 block of Links Lane in Split Rail Estates.
A man who was part of a work crew subcontracted by a utility company to install copper cable on Wright’s property was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. His condition was reported as serious but not life-threatening. Wright told deputies he shot the man with a .20-gauge shotgun after repeatedly asking him to leave. Wright was released on $7,500 bond Friday afternoon.
