A fatal wrong-way car crash killed three people on Tuesday night in east Fort Worth, including a pregnant young woman who had just left Weatherford. Sabrina Fernandez and her unborn child died in the crash, as did 22-year-old Samantha Goude of Keller, the wrong-way driver.
The Star-Telegram says Fernandez was planning to return to Weatherford to spend Christmas with her boyfriend and his family. The accident happened on Interstate 30. Witnesses said Goude drove more than three miles going the wrong way before crashing into the Infiniti driven by Fernandez.
Officials are investigating why Goude was driving the wrong way, but court records say she was arrested in November for possession of heroin. Fernandez’s boyfriend, who lives in Weatherford, and a 28-year-old female were also injured in the accident…they were last listed in critical condition.
