If you’ve driven in West Texas, you’ve seen the giant windmills dotting the landscape. Now, he turbines are moving closer to the Metroplex, and there’s now one here in our listening area.
There’s a new wind farm in Jack County, just outside Jacksboro. It’s a 15,000-acre farm operated by Enbridge called the Keechi Wind Farm–55 individual turbines are spinning to deliver electricity into the ERCOT grid under a 20-year power purchase agreement with Microsoft. The Star-Telegram says the wind farm can generate up to 110 megawatts, which could operate about 45,000 homes at full capacity.
