Emaciated dog now doing well

An emaciated Great Dane found in November in Millsap is doing well and has a new family, authorities said this week

Grace weighs just over 98 pounds — a normal weight for her — compared with 51 pounds when she was found Nov. 25.

Dr. Shelley Finger, a veterinarian in Willow Park, told the Star-Telegram that she has adopted the two-year-old dog.

A Parker County resident found Grace abandoned and wandering in Millsap. The dog’s eye had to be removed and she had to undergo several other procedures.

No charges were filed against the owner–she said the dog had been missing for multiple weeks.

Deputies have said any donations that exceed Grace’s medical bills will go to the Parker County Sheriff’s Animal Cruelty Reward Fund.
