Courthouse pinwheels represent abused children

You may have noticed the many pinwheels placed around the Parker County Courthouse lawn in the last several days. That’s a project of Parker County’s Child Protective Services and Court Appointed Special Advocates–they represent abused Parker County children. April is Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month. In 2014 there were 402 reported and confirmed cases of Child Abuse in Parker County. Statewide that number was 40,639 with 151 fatalities due to child abuse. On April 10th residents are encouraged to go blue, wearing blue to support child abuse prevention.
