Man arrested for trying to kill wife in arsons

A local man has been arrested in three arson cases that happened five years ago.

After an investigation involving the Texas Rangers and the Weatherford-Parker County Special Crimes Unit, 45-year-old Michael Wade Blue was arrested, accused of trying to kill his ex-wife.

The fires happened at residences on King Ranch Court, Zion Hill Loop and Brock Hill Lane. Authorities said Blue set the fires in various ways, by tampering with electrical boxes, the use of accelerants, and by placing connected batteries inside trash cans–each of them inside the garages of the homes. Apparently the homes were owned by Blue’s former in-laws. He apparently admitted to setting all three fires–and he knew that his children were residing in the homes at the times of the arsons.

He was booked into the Parker County Jail, and has not yet bonded out.
