In the area round of the high school softball playoffs:
The Weatherford Lady Roos lost the first game to El Paso Montwood but came back and won games 2 and 3 to advance to the third round.
Aledo, the No. 1 ranked team in 5A, beat Brewer in a one-game series, 6-3.
The Mineral Wells Lady Rams advanced to the third round for the third straight year, beating Godley 9-4.
Brock swept Maypearl 5-0 and 8-6. Cara Tolar had 12 strikeouts in the first game.
In the bi-district round of the high school baseball playoffs:
The Weatherford Kangaroos won two out of three against San Angelo Central–Beau Burrows had 15 strikeouts in the second game, and the Roos came from behind to win the third game, scoring seven runs in the fifth and sixth inning.
The Mineral Wells Rams ran into the No. 1 ranked team in the state, losing their one-game series to Iowa Park, 4-0.
The Brock Eagles swept Maypearl 15-4 and 4-0. Titus Gossett had 4 extra base hits in the first game and Jordan Andrae pitched a shutout in the second game.
