An Azle man running from law enforcement agents who came to his house to arrest him for violating his parole conditions took his neighbors hostage in their Azle-area home recently.
32-year-old Christopher Earl Cotton reportedly ran through the woods and into a home on Oakridge Road.
Once inside the house, Cotton grabbed the homeowner by the neck and told him to stay quiet. The homeowner’s small children, ages two and five, were also present.
A deputy noticed blood on the doorknob of the home and deputies let themselves in the house, located Cotton, and then arrested him with further incident.
Parker County Today said Cotton faces charges of Burglary of a Habitation — Intend to commit Other Felony, 2 counts of Unlawful Restraint of a Person Under 17-years-Old, Evading Arrest or Detention (With a Previous Conviction), Unlawful Restraint, Violation of Parole and Evading Arrest or Detention. Cotton’s Bond has been set at $115,000.
