Palo Pinto Sheriff’s deputies and game wardens from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department have been searching the Brazos River near Dark Valley Bridge on Farm Road 4 North for a missing Mineral Wells man.
The Mineral Wells Index says 19-year-old Montana Cruz Christopher of Mineral Wells, reportedly fell into the Brazos Monday night from a large boulder along the south bank about a mile downstream from the bridge and didn’t surface from the water.
Christopher was out at the river with his wife, Samantha, and two other friends late Monday night to early Tuesday morning when he reportedly fell into the water.
The river, already swollen and swift from recent rains, had risen Monday because the Brazos River Authority had released about 9,000 cubic feet of water around 8.p.m. Monday from a gate at Possum Kingdom.
