MWISD and superintendent part ways

After four years leading Mineral Wells ISD, Gail Haterius has reached a mutual separation agreement with the school board and resigned.

The Mineral Wells Index says the action comes after several weeks of closed door sessions, including a marathon closed session that began at 3 p.m. Monday and ended at 1:18 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Assistant Superintendent Jay Walsworth was named interim superintendent. Haterius was hired in May of 2012, replacing Ronny Collins who retired.
