Roo coach’s show now a podcast

For the first time, the weekly radio interview with Weatherford High School’s head football coach will be presented as a podcast in the upcoming 2018 season. Chuck FM Radio has announced the “Kangaroo Coach’s Corner” will be a podcast as well as broadcast on air during pregame on “The Endzone” Friday nights on 102.5 FM and 88.5 FM.

WHS Head Coach Billy Mathis will discuss Roo football with host Brent Baker, talking specifics about each game and looking forward to the next opponent.

Mike’s Westside Rental in Weatherford has signed on to sponsor both the podcast and the on-air interview for the 2018 season.

The podcast will debut the week of Aug. 27, leading up to the Roos’ opening game against Granbury on Aug. 31. Each week, listeners will find a link to the podcast on and on the station’s social media feeds. The interview can be accessed with a standard internet browser on smartphones, laptops or any other similar device.

The podcast format will allow fans, parents and even players to listen to the interview each week at a time of their choosing, while the traditional on-air pregame schedule will continue.

2018 marks the 17th season of “The Endzone,” covering high school football from across the region. The Kangaroo Coach’s Corner is a featured part of the show’s one-hour pregame show, leading in to live play-by-play coverage of Weatherford football. The show, which runs until 11 p.m. each week, also features scores, interviews, statistics and other information on Mineral Wells, Aledo, Granbury, Azle, Springtown, Brock, Decatur, Millsap and other high schools in the immediate area.
